End of Year Reflections
Hello Families,
As we approach the final days of the school year, I had hoped my next message would simply be one of celebration, gratitude, and well wishes for a safe and enjoyable summer. There will be time for that later this week as we officially close out the school year on Friday, June 19 (early release schedule).
However, I do want to take a moment to remind families about the upcoming budget referendum vote on Tuesday, June 23.
I recognize that our community has spent a great deal of time discussing the budget over the past several months, and I know many residents are eager to move beyond this process. As your superintendent, I share that sentiment. I would much rather be focused solely on celebrating the accomplishments of our students, staff, and families as we conclude a successful school year. Nevertheless, the outcome of this referendum remains important to our schools and our ability to plan effectively for the year ahead.
Attached is the most recent budget adjustment presentation, which outlines the changes made following the first and second referendum votes. We will also be updating the district website tomorrow with additional budget details and supporting information. An informed community is a strong community, and we encourage all residents to review the information available before casting their vote.
Thank you for your continued engagement, support, and commitment to Stafford Public Schools. I wish everyone a wonderful remainder of the week, and I look forward to sharing a more celebratory end-of-year message in the coming days.
Sincerely,
Scott Sugarman
Superintendent of Schools
